During the typical life cycle of IT systems, one should not only assess regularly the continued health of systems and procedures, but also ensure that the benefits expected from each related stage of the investment are actually achieved. In addition to the typical steps in the acquisitions process, we recommend complementary reviews to monitor health and/or achievements.
R&B assignments invariably focus on three initial questions, i.e. what have we got, how do we use IT and what do we need? The answers to these questions are fundamental to both an assessment and/or an acquisition assignment.
The product of the assessment process is a report, including findings and recommendations for action.
Whilst the steps in the acquisition process cover the production of a request for tender, selection of appropriate suppliers and the evaluation and consideration of quotations and proposals.
